- List of accepted projects (ACA Website, Japanese)
In this project, Dominique will lead a team of archivist, photographer, and film history researcher to construct a digital archive of early visual devices and related artifacts that prefigure contemporary media art, consisting of Professor Emeritus (Waseda Univ.) Machiko Kusahara’s extensive collection of magic lanterns (such as zoetropes and phenakistoscopes), panorama photographs, and Taishō-period kimonos.
Our team will take on the responsibility of ensuring that the collection by Professor Kusahara, a pioneering figure in Japanese media art studies and media archaeology, is not left orphaned or dispersed by creating an archive that will contribute to future media art research.
