The seminar exhibition, which began in 2017 and is now in its ninth iteration, has been shaped entirely by the students themselves—from the overall concept to the contents of the works—through discussion, reflection, and repeated trial and error.
This year, all members of the seminar engaged in daily journaling, with the intention that questions would emerge organically from the accumulation of written words.
As a result, the works on display are not final destinations, but rather “fermenters” in which the authors’ processes of thought continue to live and evolve.
It is my hope that each of these works will enter into a fruitful interaction with the awareness and sensibilities of those who encounter them.

What “Re:ing” Is
A fleeting emotion or thought, if left unattended, slips from our hands in the blink of an eye.
Before it disappears, let us gently catch it in words, even if it remains uncertain and incomplete.
The words we have drawn in close ring a secret bell, hoping to be lifted up once again by a future self.
To re-see. To re-listen. To re-touch. To re-taste. To re-read. To re-perform. To re-create. To re-question…
Perhaps it is through the act of “Re” that I am connected with the world.
For I realized that from the words I leave behind, someone else’s “voice” faintly echoes back.
A “voice” dwells within each work.
Each piece wishes to awaken the “voice” of its beholder.
Just as a bell that continues to ring serves as a calling from the past into the future.
